Our maximum group size is six participants. Small groups are significantly quieter and more flexible than large groups. Smaller groups enhance learning opportunities while enabling instructors to provide more individual attention to each course participant.
Single kayaks are used exclusively during our courses. Paddling in the bow of a double kayak can significantly limit guide training opportunities. Leadership training is considerably enhanced while paddling a single kayak.
Instructors are veteran guides
Our team consists of guide instructors certified by the Association of Canadian Sea Kayak Guides. Our instructors have accumulated decades of professional experience leading sea kayak tours and expeditions on British Columbia's west coast and throughout the world. Gord Pincock teaches each Evolution course and may be joined by an additional certified guide instructor depending on group size.
Food and cooking are provided
Healthy, tasty meals are provided. A certified assistant guide works as cook and support staff, enabling each instructor to spend more time covering course material with participants.
Two course locations
We offer certified guide courses on British Columbia's north and south coasts. Our Sunshine Coast course is on BC's south coast, easily accessible from Vancouver. Our Haida Gwaii course provides two-way speedboat transportation between Sandspit and Rose Harbour, near the remote tip of Gwaii Haanas National Park.
